Educational content
Through regular classes or masterclasses, the educational programmes on offer at Le Pacifique help the participants to learn and understand the everyday tools for work and research projects ; tools which meet a specific demand for continuous tuition. The main objective is to provide the dance-performer with a better understanding of the different processes and physical paths the body uses to put movement into time and space. By regularly inviting teachers who are well-known on a national and international scale for the quality of their tuition, several somatic approaches to learning about movement are proposed (Analyse du corps dans le mouvement dansé, Contact-Improvisation, Release technique…)
This activity is backed by the Ministry of Culture and Communication and the ADAMI.
Participants
Generally, the people that take part are dance-performers that work in active choreographic companies (local or other). They also include dancers in training, choreographers or teachers that are keen to find out about new techniques that will help enrich their creativity and performance processes.
Joint operations
Local, National and International partnerships
Le Pacifique has been associated with the Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble / Jean-Claude Gallotta since 2005 in a joint programme of regular training for dancers around Grenoble. Le Pacifique also has working partnerships with several other training centres (CND in Lyon, Cie Didier Théron in Montpellier, various local companies and theatres). In 2008, the regular dance training project will become part of a European network of institutes working together to further the education of the professional dancer and encourage the circulation of both teachers and students.
